In 1983, Pierre Jardinier, a former engineer at CSTB (French Building Research Institute) was in charge of the air quality research laboratory SERVA. With two partners, he designed the first humidity sensitive exhaust unit that would ultimately lead to the development of Aereco as a company, from then a small basic workshop to the present 18,000 m² facility that currently producing several millions of components per year.

Convinced by the quality of their invention, these pioneers achieved great success. The humidity sensitive ventilation became more and more popular, first by the EDF energy-saving “Vivrelec” label in 1995, then by the French Thermal Regulation RT2000. The humidity sensitive ventilation has today become the referent system of the current regulation in France.
